Highway 44 North Bus’n’Swim

A big congratulations goes out to Highway 44 North Bus’n’Swim, one of our 2024 Rural Roots recipients that received a $500 Rural Roots award at our 2024 AGM held on April 17, 2024.

Highway 44 North Bus’n’Swim is a program that began in Flatbush over 40 years ago that serves the rural areas between Flatbush and Dapp to afford rural children with the opportunity to be able to attend swimming lessons and obtain a valuable life skill. Not only does this program afford rural children bussing to attend such a program, but it also brings the community closer together, by allowing children to build new friendships in conjunction with providing parents with the opportunity to connect with their neighbours, that they may have otherwise not met without this Bus’n’Swim program.
