Ever wondered how electricity gets to you?

1. GENERATION:

Electricity starts at a generator which can be powered by wind, water, or the burning of fossil fuels.

2. TRANSMISSION:

The generated power travels through cables called transmission lines. These lines are part of the provincial power grid.

3. DISTRIBUTION:

The electricity gets converted at a substation to a lower voltage and travels along REA owned distribution lines.

4. CONSUMPTION:

The electricity passes through a customers transformer mounted on a pole to convert the voltage so it can be safely used in the home.
