Keep the following tips in mind the next time you have a load of laundry to wash.
Wash full loads:
Your washing machine will use the same amount of water regardless if you fill the machine with clothes or not. Take advantage of the fact that the machine is already running, and ensure you only run it when it is full to also reduce extra future loads of laundry.
Wash laundry in cold water:
By switching from hot to cold water your washing machine will not use as much power to heat the water to wash your clothes, thus reducing your overall consumption.
Toss a towel in the dryer:
A dry towel added to your dryer load can significantly reduce drying times, by absorbing moisture in other articles of clothing.
