Match your pot size to the burner size: When you’re cooking on the stove top, match the size of the pot or pan you’re using to the size of the burner on your stove. If you cook a small pot on the large burner, you’re wasting 30-40% of the electricity needed. Your best bet is just to match the burner size to your pot size.

Use your oven effectively: Taking advantage of the oven light is a tremendous energy saver, as opposed to opening the oven door to check on your food, where you will see heat loss each time, and as a result your oven will work harder to maintain the appropriate heat required.
