Your Safety Matters- Stay 7 Meters Safe

Did you know you and your equipment MUST stay a minimum of 7 METERS away from overhead power lines when parked or operating equipment.

The operator of overhead power lines or communication lines shall ensure that the lines are installed and maintained to permit the safe movement under the lines of equipment, buildings or objects not exceeding the following height:

• 3.6 m (11.8 feet) for areas normally accessible to pedestrians only

• 4.1 m (13.5 feet) for driveways to residences or residential garages

• 4.2 m (13.7 feet) for areas where agricultural equipment is normally used

• 4.3 m (14.1 feet) for right-of-way of underground pipelines

• 4.8 m (15.7 feet) for lanes, alleys or entrances to commercial or industrial premises

• 5.3 m (17.3 feet) for roads and highways
