Do You Know What To Do In The Event of A Power Outage?

In the event of a power outage, one of the first things you should do, is check your breaker at the transformer pole to ensure it is UP and in the ON position. In the event that you check your breaker and it is DOWN and in the OFF position, all you may have to do in order to restore power is turn the breaker back into the ON position by flipping it UP. If you have checked your breaker and it is in the ON position, but you still have no power, please contact our Emergency Line 1-877-749-3655. Please ensure you have your Name and Legal Land Location available to ensure that we are able to respond to your outage.

Energy Saving Tips

Do you turn the lights off when you leave a room? By remembering to turn lights off when you leave a room, you can help reduce your overall energy consumption and ultimately save yourself money on your utility bill. Daylight can also be used to your advantage by letting in free light so you don't even have to turn your lights on during the day! Keep your curtains and shades open during the day to provide free, natural light. Decorating with lighter colors that reflect daylight can help as well.

Access to Transformer Pole

In order to perform maintenance or emergency service work, our linemen require access to the transformer pole. If you have a lock on your gate, please allow the REA to put a lock on as well. Our linemen climb utility poles at all hours of the day, often in harsh weather conditions. Having safe and unobstructed access to a transformer pole is necessary for maintenance and emergency service work. Sharp objects like nails, tacks or staples for attaching signs, birdhouses or satellite dishes also pose a danger to our linemen. Did you know....gaskets on your fridge deteriorate over time, and if the door doesn't seal properly, this can waste a lot of energy. The following, is instructions on how to see if your fridge is sealed properly. Place a piece of paper between the door and the refrigerator as you close it. If you can move the paper freely in the door, the fridge is not sealed tightly. You can also place a flashlight inside the fridge or freezer and turn it on, then close the door. If you can see light around the door gasket, it is not sealing properly.
