Energy Saving Tips- Efficient Cooking

Match your pot size to the burner size. When you’re cooking on the stove top, match the size of the pot or pan you’re using to the size of the burner on your stove. If you cook a small pot on the large burner, you’re wasting 30-40% of the electricity needed. Your best bet is just to match burner size to your pot size. Use your oven effectively. Taking advantage of the oven light is a tremendous energy saver, as opposed to opening the oven door to check on your food.

Easter Office Hours

Happy Easter! A reminder that the Wild Rose REA office will be closed on Friday March 30, 2018 and Monday April 2, 2018. The office will reopen at 8:00 AM on Tuesday April 3, 2018. Energy Saving Tip: Did you know that a slow cooker is a great way to cook many of your Easter dinner side dishes. A slower cooker efficiently cooks your food while leaving the kitchen at its normal temperature. You also don't have to turn on your oven or use a burner on your stove which will ensure you have plenty of space in the kitchen to work with.
