Fall Energy Saving Tips

Today is officially the first day of fall! Fall is a great time to do a quick check on your home to ensure it is ready for the colder weather. 1. Ensure return air registars are not blocked by furniture or bookcases. 2. Ensure windows and doors are properly weather-stripped. 3. Replace and or vacuum your furnace filter monthly.

Energy Saving Tips

Following these laundry tips, could help you save on your energy costs. Wash clothes in cold water. Use hot water only for very dirty loads. Do only full laundry loads. If you must do smaller loads, adjust the water level in the washing machine to match the load size, especially when using hot water. Always use cold-water rinse.

PPO September 20, 2016

On Tuesday September 20, 2016 there will be a Planned Power Outage (PPO). This PPO will affect 1 Member between 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM west of Barrhead within the following LSD: 60-04.

Energy Saving Tips

1. When you use your dryer, only dry full loads! This will reduce your energy usage. 2. Dry loads consecutively to take advantage of the heat that is already in the dryer.

Vegetation Management

Our patrols are ongoing, however we cannot be everywhere at the same time. If you see vegetation close to an overhead primary power line, please help us by calling our office at 780-349-3655 with the land location and details of the problem area along with contact information where you can be reached. With safety in mind, under no circumstances should you try to remove the vegetation yourself.

Energy Saving Tips

Did You Know... Energy- saving LED light bulbs can last up to 25 times longer than a normal bulb and use up to 75% less energy. So when you replace your traditional incandescent bulbs with the energy-savers, you will pay less to get the same amount of light! Opening the drapes on sunny days will let in "free" light and heat! Installing motion sensors or timers on external lights can cut down on energy costs!

Safe Limit of Approach- 7 Meter Rule

You and your equipment MUST stay a minimum of 7 METRES away from overhead power lines when parked or operating equipment. If you need to work closer then 7 metres, please contact Wild Rose REA Ltd. at 780-349-3655 for authorization.
